Sniper rifles are used by military or law enforcement to ensure accurate placement of shots at greater ranges than other small arms. A typical sniper rifle will be built for optimal levels of accuracy, fitted with a telescopic sight, and chambered for a military centrefire cartridge. The term is often used in the media to describe any type of accurised firearm fitted with a telescopic sight that is employed against human targets. SWAT, Sweepers, Clerics, and the Resistance, all include individuals wih specific training that enables them correct use and firing of sniper rifles. Both sides technically use them for very deicate and often undercover assassinations, and other occassions (such as hostage situations) where the utmost accuracy is necessary. M40, used primarily by SWAT and Sweeper snipers. Uses 7.62 mm ammo. M14 Alexander "Axel" Aladrago and Horatio Kane's standard sniping rifle. Fires 7.62 mm.

The Walter WA2000 Sniper Rifle, also commonly used by sweepers and SWAT. May be used with or without scope, generally in plain black.

Wow they use the WA2000? Those things are expensive, but very good quality. German made and didn't sell too well since you can get an AWM cheaper. (Hooray for semi-useless info).
Edit: Oh I see now, they used the WA2000 in the scene where they shoot the dogs. Except they made it out to be a shotgun by adding in the pump-action sound, heh funny.

Yeah, pretty much. It was silly, but still in the film, and I want one.

I had no idea they used that one and made it look like a shotgun... Looks like pretty heavy stuff... Doubt one can accurately snipe while standing...
That's why I like M14 better, it looks a lot more mobile and brobably something you can poke out of a car window and shoot pretty easily, or just scoot off and keep it attached to our back without hurting it... *silly* Plus it kinda looks like the Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle from RE4... I LOVE that thing... those guys never know what hit 'em when I pop their skulls.

Actually its a very well balanced gun, and can be used quite effectively in most situations. Hence the big costs in manufacturing and design. Do not doubt the German weaponry.

o_0 .... um, eek? ^^; to be very honest with you, I'm terrified of guns in real life, I only like them in video games... or the CSI shows.

Heh, I'm actually a member of Amnesty International. So I'm against guns in real life, but in games I like to have the facts straight.

*nodnod* That's a very good point. I agree.
Ur, Amnesty International, huh? Awesome. I'm.... uh, volunteer for the Helenic Animal Protection Society, but since people are animals too, I support human and animal rights alike! ;D
ahem, yeah... A sorta distant cousin of mine was shot in Connecticut, USA, about 5 years ago, just before the Columbine High shootings... so I'm strong in the anti-gun thing... and stuff.

Amnesty International are all about laying down arms and getting people out of death sentences over seas and stuff. It's a good cause. What guns do is what frightens me. I know what you mean by a relative being shot, my great grand uncle was shot dead by a catholic in Ireland. My family didn't find out till after they had moved to New Zealand to get away from it all.

Hmmm, I have to say I agree with most of the aims of Amnesty International. However, the whole "getting people out of death penalty" thing I don't necessarily agree with.
Quite frankly, there are a few people who I'd like to see get the death penalty. Ian Huntley, for instance.
That bastard raped and killed two ten-year-old girls, lied about it when he went on television saying "Whoever did this, come forward", then he has the nerve to launch a compensation campaign when he claims that prison wardens didn't protect him when he got raped in prison. And now, he's appealing for less time because he claims he's suicidal. Personally, I say let him kill himself. Now, I think that you'd agree with me in saying that this disgusting piece of filth who shouldn't have even been allowed on the earth should be given the death penalty.

I think that death penatly is too soft for Ian Huntley. I say let him rot away at prison and get raped himself a few more times.
Yes, I'm anti death penatly. But not anti-violence against scum.
